ROYALS HOST HURRICANES TOMORROW NIGHT

Victoria, BC- The Victoria Royals will take on the Lethbridge Hurricanes, who own the second best winning percentage in the WHL (0.800), tomorrow night at 7:05 p.m. at Save-On-Foods Memorial Centre. Tuesday’s contest is Winter Driving Awareness Night presented by Mainroad, Kal Tire and Wallace Driving School.
OUTSTANDING OUTHOUSE: Royals’ rookie goaltender Griffen Outhouse posted his first shutout in his first WHL start in Victoria’s last game vs. the Spokane Chiefs. Outhouse became the first Royal, and second netminder in franchise history, to record a shutout in his first WHL start. Former Chilliwack Bruins goaltender Braden Gamble also posted his first shutout in his first WHL start back on December 6, 2009 in a 4-0 victory over the Vancouver Giants.
ROAD TRIPPERS: The Royals are playing their lone home contest tonight before they head on their longest road trip of the season. After tonight’s match-up, Victoria will travel east to play Prince Albert, Saskatoon, Swift Current, Moose Jaw, Brandon and Regina. The Royals’ Eastern Conference swing will see them travel a total of 5,051 kilometers. Combined with Victoria’s most recent four-game road trip, which saw them travel 2,145 kilometers, the Royals will drive a total of 7,196 kilometers for 10 games in 21 days.

– Mainroad will have a selection of highway maintenance and service vehicles on site, on display outside Gate 1. Fans will have a chance to win a Fitbit watch by participating in an interactive game at the Mainroad display outside before the contest.
