Victoria drops 5-3 result to Vancouver.

Vancouver, BC- The Victoria Royals surrendered three third period goals, including an empty netter, in a 5-3 loss to the Vancouver Giants at Pacific Coliseum.
The Royals who were playing their third game in three nights led 1-0 after the first period and 3-2 heading into the final frame. The Giants notched two goals in the third period in a 1:16 span to take a one goal lead. Vancouver’s Tyler Benson was credited with the game winning goal.
Victoria got goals from Jared Dmytriw, Austin Carroll and Tyler Soy. Dmytriw’s tally was the first of his WHL career, while Carroll and Soy scored on the power play. The other markers for Vancouver came from Vladimir Bobylev, Carter Popoff, Alec Baer and Thomas Foster.
Coleman Vollrath stopped 25 of 29 shots he faced for the Royals, while netminder Payton Lee made 24 saves on 27 shots for the Giants.
Victoria went 2/8=25.0% with the man advantage, while Vancouver went 1/5=20.0%.
The Royals return home for a match-up with the Swift Current Broncos on Saturday, October 4th on Country Night at Save-On-Foods Memorial Centre. Puck drop is scheduled for 7:05 p.m.
