Royals Sign Carsten Kayter and Cohen Massey to WHL Scholarship and Development Agreements
Victoria, B.C. – The Victoria Royals have signed 2006-born defensemen Carsten Kayter and Cohen Massey to WHL Scholarship and Development Agreements.
Kayter, hailing from Warman, Saskatchewan, has spent the past two seasons in the BCHL with the Langley Rivermen, scoring 34 points in 78 games played. A commit of the University of Nebraska-Omaha, Kayter was originally drafted in the 2021 WHL Prospects draft 77th overall by the Royals.
Massey, born in Cloverdale, B.C., spent last season splitting time between the Portland Winterhawks in the WHL and the Whitecourt Wolverines in the AJHL. A Yale Hockey Academy alum, Massey was drafted 191st overall in the 2021 WHL Prospects Draft by the Portland Winterhawks.
