Royals Hit the Road for First Road Swing of the Season
This past weekend the Royals concluded the first of the home-and-home series with a 9-4 win against the Vancouver Giants at Save-on-Foods Memorial Centre Saturday night. This week the Royals will travel to Wenatchee on Thursday then Everett on Saturday for their first road trip of the season proudly presented by CSN.
Friday marks the first matchup of the season between the Royals and the Wild. Victoria enters with momentum, carrying a 2-0-1-0 record and a three-game point streak, while Wenatchee is still searching for their first win at 0-1-0-1.
Saturday’s matchup will be the first regular-season clash between Victoria and Everett. The two sides met twice in the preseason, with each team managing to come away with points. The Royals and the Silvertips both recorded a 2-0-1-0 record in the first three games played. With both teams off to strong starts, Saturday’s game is set to be a hard-fought contest as each side looks to gain an early edge.

Players to watch
Roan Woodward (VIC) – Roan Woodward (LW), hailing Nipawin, SK, recorded a career night on Saturday, where he picked up five points with four goals and one assist.
Timofei Runtso (VIC) – Timofei Runtso hailing Marine del Ray, CA, most recently played for the St. Cloud Norseman in the NAHL, putting up eight goals and 19 assists for 27 points in 53 games played. Runtso netted his first WHL goal in Saturday’s contest against the Giants.
Tobias Tvrznik (WEN) – Tobias Tvrznik hailing Litomerice, Czechia, made sixty saves int a 4-3 shootout loss against the Evertt Silvertips on Saturday tying the franchise record for single saves in a night. This makes his one of eight WHL goalies to post 60+ saves in a regular game in the 21st century.
Zackary Shantz (EVT) – Zackary Shantz hailing Edmonton AB, leading the Everett Silvertips in points, netted his first career WHL hat-trick in the Home Opener against the Wenatchee Wild.

The Royals are set to host the Everett Silvertips at home on Friday October 10th at 7:05 pm for the Goals of Giving game and Saturday October 11th at 4:00 pm for Marty’s annual birthday celebration.
