Victoria wins 4-2 in first of back-to-back games vs Tri-City.

Victoria, BC- The Victoria Royals tallied two goals in each of the first two periods to take down the Tri-City Americans 4-2 on Friday night.
Victoria’s Matthew Phillips opened the second period on a high note when he exploded for two goals 14 seconds apart, which included the game winner. The Royals’ Jack Walker registered a highlight reel goal late in the first frame on a when he rushed end-to-end and beat Americans’ netminder Rylan Parenteau with a wrist-shot over the blocker. Ryan Peckford opened the scoring for the home team.
Tri-City, who entered the game with the third most goals scored in the WHL, received markers from Dylan Coghlan and Vladislav Lukin in the final stanza.
The Royals started Griffen Outhouse in net who made 32 saves on the 34 shots he faced. Parenteau stopped 26 of the 30 pucks directed his way for the Americans that included multiple scoring chances for Victoria throughout the contest.
Victoria held a 1/4=25.0% mark on the powerplay, while Tri-City went 1/5=20.0% with the man-advantage.
