TRADE: Rockets Acquire Canucks Prospect Parker Alcos from Oil Kings
KELOWNA, BC – The Kelowna Rockets have acquired defenseman Parker Alcos, along with a seventh-round pick in 2028 and a third-round pick in the 2026 CHL Import Draft, from the Edmonton Oil Kings in exchange for Kelowna’s first-round pick in the 2026 CHL Import Draft, a second-round pick in 2027, and a third-round pick in 2026 (Prince George).
Alcos, 19, is a 6-foot-4, 185-pound right-shot defenseman from Port Moody, BC, who brings a combination of size, mobility, and poise to the Rockets’ blue line. Selected by the Vancouver Canucks in the sixth round (189th overall) of the 2024 NHL Draft, Alcos has steadily developed into a reliable, high-minutes defender at the WHL level.
The blueliner has appeared in 167 career WHL games with Edmonton, totaling 44 points (4G, 40A) and 103 penalty minutes. During the 2025–26 season, Alcos has recorded 14 points (2G, 12A) in 31 games and is a +29.
Known for his strong defensive stick, gap control, and ability to move pucks efficiently under pressure, Alcos also brings offensive instincts, highlighted by his ability to activate off the blue line and get shots through traffic. His combination of size and skating allows him to defend physically while still keeping pace in transition.
“Parker gives us a big, right-shot defenseman with WHL experience and pro upside,” said Rockets General Manager Bruce Hamilton. “He defends hard, moves the puck well, and fits the style of game we want to play down the stretch.”
The Rockets would like to welcome Parker to Kelowna!
