Kelowna’s two-game win streak was snapped by the Seattle Thunderbirds on Wednesday at the accesso ShoWare Center in Kent, Wa. Edmonton Oilers prospect Reid Schaefer scored the lone goal of the third period, netting an empty net goal. Adam Kydd and Jackson DeSouza were the goal scorers for the Rockets, Talyn Boyko made 20 saves on 23 shots.
The ‘Tips have dropped their last four games, they were last in action on Wednesday, where they fell 5-2 to the Western Conference and US Division leading Portland Winterhawks. Tarin Smith got Everett on the board first, but Portland stormed back with four unanswered goals. Everett and Portland then traded goals in the third period. Silvertips goaltender Braden Holt was replaced in net 48 seconds into the third period by Tim Metzger.
Moose Jaw kicked off their BC road trip with a 5-2 loss to the Prince George Cougars on Wednesday. The Warriors jumped out to a 2-0 lead, but the Cougars responded with five consecutive goals. The Cougs peppered Moose Jaw goaltender Connor Ungar with 46 shots on net.
