Seven former Rockets to compete in 2023 NHL Playoffs
While the Kelowna Rockets season may have come to an end, there are still plenty of former and current Rockets in action this spring.
A total of seven former Rockets players will be competing in the 2023 NHL Stanley Cup Playoffs, while 10 players who have worn the Ogopogo will be competing in the AHL’s 2022 Calder Cup Playoffs.
The first round of the NHL Stanley Cup Playoffs features 16 teams in eight best-of-7 series, which start Monday.

Rockets playing in the NHL Stanley Cup Playoffs
- Edmonton Oilers (1) – Leon Draisaitl
- Los Angeles Kings (1) – Alexander Edler
- Dallas Stars (1) – Jamie Benn
- Vegas Golden Knights (1) – Kaedan Korczak
- Winnipeg Jets (1) – Josh Morrissey
- Toronto Maple Leafs (1) – Luke Schenn

For the second consecutive year, Draisaitl’s Edmonton Oilers will faceoff against Alexander Edler’s Los Angeles Kings in the opening round of the playoffs. Meanwhile, Korczaks’s Golden Knights will face Morrissey’s Winnipeg Jets. The Tampa Bay Lightning will take on Schenn and the Toronto Maple Leafs, while Benn and the Stars will look to take down the Minnesota Wild. Severson and the Devils will take on the Rangers in the opening round.
