Taz Burman Makes 38 Saves; Rebels Win 2-1 In Spokane
SPOKANE, WA – A 38-save performance from Taz Burman paced the Rebels to a 2-1 win over the Chiefs on Saturday. With the win, the Rebels have made it 5 straight.
The opening period was scoreless.
In the second period, the Rebels opened the scoring when Tyler Sandhu found the back of the net. Presten Kopeck and Kayle Doetzel picked up the assists. It was 1-0 for Red Deer after 2 periods.
In the third period, Evan Polei scored on the power play with the assists going to Scott Feser and Brett Cote. Feser extends his point streak to 8 games. The Chiefs got a goal from Markson Bechtold to cut the Rebels lead to 2-1, but the Rebels held on for the win.
Taz Burman finished with 38 saves, Garret Hughson made 18 saves in the Chiefs net. Red Deer was 1 for 4 on the power play, the Chiefs were 0 for 4 on the power play.
The Rebels continue their tour of the US Division; they will play in Seattle on Tuesday. The broadcast on 106.7 The Drive begins at 7:55PM Tuesday evening.
