Rebels Begin Road Trip With A 7-3 Win In Cranbrook
CRANBROOK, BC – The Rebels ran their winning streak to 4 games after a 7-3 victory against the Kootenay Ice on Friday.
The Rebels took a 2-0 lead after one period, after goals from Adam Musil and Meyer Nell.
Early in the second period, the Rebels took at 3-0 lead on a goal from Brooks Maxwell. It was Maxwell’s 100th career point in his 200th career game with the Rebels. Scott Feser also scored for Red Deer in the second period, it was a shorthanded goal and Feser’s point streak is now at 7 games. The Ice had a second period goal by Levi Cable and it was 4-1 for Red Deer after two periods.
The Ice scored early in the third period on a goal by Rinat Valiev to cut the Rebels lead to 4-2. The Rebels made it 5-2 on a goal by Meyer Nell, his second of the night. The Ice made it 5-3 when Vince Loschiavo scored. The Rebels got goals from Grayson Pawlenchuk and Evan Polei to end it 7-3.
Brett Cote had 4 assists for Red Deer.
Rebels goaltender Rylan Toth made 28 saves in goal, Wyatt Hoflin stopped 22 Rebels shots. Red Deer was 2 for 4 on the power play and 6 for 6 on the penalty kill.
The Rebels continue the road trip Saturday when they face the Spokane Chiefs. The broadcast on 106.7 The Drive begins at 7:50PM.
