Josephson to play for Canada at 2023 Hlinka Gretzky Cup

RED DEER – Red Deer Rebels forward Ollie Josephson has been selected to play for Canada’s National Men’s Summer Under-18 Team at the 2023 Hlinka Gretzky Cup, July 31-Aug. 5 in Trencin, Slovakia and Breclav, Czechia.
Josephson was named Rebels Rookie of the Year for 2022-23 after collecting 19 points in 63 games. He was one of the team’s top faceoff takers and a solid penalty killer during his freshman campaign.
The 17-year-old from Victoria, BC was selected by the Rebels in the first round, fifth overall at the 2021 WHL Prospects Draft.
Rebels forward Kalan Lind and Team Canada won gold at the 2022 Hlinka Gretzky Cup in Red Deer.
No team has put more players on Canada’s National Men’s Summer Under-18 Team than the Red Deer Rebels with Josephson becoming the 19th Rebels player to don the Maple Leaf.
