Leavitt Machinery Preview – Round 1, Game 6 vs. Moose Jaw
RAIDER REVIEW: The Raiders return to the Art Hauser Centre for Game 6 of their best-of-seven series against the Moose Jaw Warriors tonight. The Raiders trail the series 3-2, but staved off elimination last night with a 5-1 win at Mosaic Place. Sean Montgomery and Parker Kelly gave the Raiders a 2-0 lead after the first 20 minutes. In the second, Max Martin and Justin Almeida exchanged goals to keep the Raiders ahead by two entering the final period. Five minutes into the third, Montgomery tallied his second of the game to put the Raiders up three. Curtis Miske scored midway through the final frame to round out the scoring. Ian Scott earned the win in goal with another strong start, stopping 31 shots.
VS. MOOSE JAW: The Raiders finished the season series with a 3-4-0-1 record against Moose Jaw. However, the Raiders won three of the last four games in the regular season. Jordy Stallard led the Raiders with 11 points in eight games.

TICKING THE TWINE: Sean Montgomery recorded the first two-goal game of his WHL Playoff career in Saturday night’s win over the Warriors. It was the Calgary product’s second multi-goal game of the 2017-18 season and fifth in his career between the regular and post-season. Montgomery is now tied for the team lead in goals this playoffs with Jordy Stallard.
FINDING THEIR FOOTING: Parker Kelly, Brett Leason, and Max Martin made an impact on the scoresheet for the first time in their WHL Playoffs careers. Kelly, an Ottawa Senators prospect, scored his first post-season goal in 10 games. Martin also recorded his first career playoff point with a second period power-play goal on Saturday night. Leason, formerly of the Tri-City Americans, had a pair of assists in his ninth career playoff game.
SPREADING OUT THE OFFENCE: Nearly all of the Raiders have contributed offensively so far during this post-season run. Nine of the 18 skaters to dress have scored a goal, while 16 of the 18 have registered at least one point.
UP NEXT: If necessary, the series heads back to Moose Jaw on Tuesday night for a winner-take-all Game 7. Puck drop at Mosaic Place is 7 p.m.
