Game Preview: Game 36 vs Moose Jaw
WEDNESDAY RECAP:
The Raiders fell 6-3 in Saskatoon to the Blades on Wednesday night to kick off the second half of the regular season. Saskatoon led 2-0 at one point, but the Raiders came back to score three straight goals to lead 3-2 late in the third. The Blades would mount a comeback of their own, however, tying the game with 6:43 left in regulation. Charlie Wright scored the game winning goal on a Blades powerplay with 2:09 left on the clock, and two empty net goals would secure the win for Saskatoon.
NOT MISSING A BEAT:
The Christmas break didn’t slow Sloan Stanick down on Wednesday, as he led the Raiders offensively with a three point performance. Stanick scored the Raiders’ first two goals of the game and picked up a helper on Hayden Pakkala’s goal in the third period. Stanick leads the team with 15 goals and 43 points through 35 games this season.
NEW SIGNINGS:
Prince Albert signed two goalies this week. On Wednesday the club announced the signing of 2008-born goaltender Steele Bass. Bass was a third round pick in the 2023 WHL Prospects Draft, and is enjoying a solid season with RHA Kelowna. On Thursday the Raiders signed another goalie, Nathan Preston, to a WHL Scholarship and Development Agreement. Preston is an 18-year-old from Penticton, BC, and will be on Prince Albert’s roster for the rest of the season. With that signing, the Raiders also re-assigned 2003-born goaltender Chase Coward to a team TBD.
