SETTING IT UP:
The Raiders narrowly dropped a 5-4 decision to the Moose Jaw Warriors on Sunday afternoon on the road. At one point in the game, the Raiders fell behind 4-0, but came back to make things interesting in the third period. It was a 5-4 game with 4:14 left in regulation, and the green and gold came a crossbar away from tying things up in the late stages of the game. That game was the second game of the weekend for the Raiders, who beat the Swift Current Broncos 4-2 on Saturday night. It was a quick turnaround from a 7pm start time on Saturday to a 2pm start time on Sunday, with four hours of travel to Moose Jaw mixed in.
EURO SCORING:
Both Krzysztof Macias and Matej Kubiesa scored on Sunday in Moose Jaw. Macias finished the night with a +2 rating and five shots on goal, while Kubiesa’s goal came on his only shot of the contest. In 13 games this season, Macias is sixth in team scoring with seven goals and two assists, while Kubiesa has played 15 games, scoring four goals and adding four assists.
STANDINGS:
The Raiders enter tonight’s action in a tie for the fourth seed in the Eastern Conference with an 8-6-0-1 record. They’re just three points back of the top seeded Moose Jaw Warriors. The first seed all the way down to the eight seed are separated by just six points.
