The Raiders are coming off a 4-2 win over the Brandon Wheat Kings on Wednesday night at The Hauser. Riley Boychuk, Brandon Gorzynski, Benett Kelly, and Jonah Sivertson scored for the Raiders in the win. Brock Cripps chipped in two assists, while Steele Bass earned his first win of the season with a 31-save performance. The Thunderbirds have lost the first four games of their road trip through the East Division, dropping a 3-0 game to the Broncos in Swift Current in their last outing.
THE MATCH-UP: Tonight is only meeting of the year between the Raiders and the Thunderbirds. In the last game between the two teams, the Raiders came back for a 5-4 win over the Thunderbirds at accesso ShoWare Center on November 14, 2025. Brayden Dube tallied the overtime winner as the Raiders posted a 4-1-1-0 record on last year’s United States road trip.
REPRESENTING THE LEAGUE: On Thursday, Brock Cripps was named to Team CHL for the 2026 CHL USA Prospects Challenge taking place on December 1 and 2 in Chicoutimi and Québec City, respectively. Cripps, a Victoria, BC product, leads the WHL in assists with 16 entering play on Friday, and tops the Raiders with 17 points in 14 contests. The 2027 NHL Draft prospect is currently riding a six-game point streak. Cripps joins Raiders Head Coach Ryan McDonald on Team CHL. McDonald was named to the coaching staff for the annual event earlier in October.
EARNING THE NICKNAME: Brandon Gorzynski is living up to his Score-zynski moniker. The Dallas Stars prospect has goals in five consecutive games, which is the longest stretch in his WHL career. The Scottsdale, AZ product is also riding a seven-game point streak. In that span, he has six goals and four assists as he sits fourth in team scoring.
HEATING UP: Four Raiders extended their point streaks to three games on Wednesday night against the Wheat Kings. Riley Boychuk and Benett Kelly each scored to extend their streak. Jonah Sivertson also scored, which gives him goals in three consecutive contests. Owen Corkish assisted on Sivertson’s goal to give him his three-game streak.
UP NEXT: The Raiders wrap up their three-game homestand on Wednesday night when they take on the Calgary Hitmen for the first time this season. Puck drop at the Art Hauser Centre is 7 p.m. Tickets are available at the Raider Office and at sasktix.ca.
