Game Preview: Game 11 vs Regina
SETTING IT UP:
The Prince Albert Raiders host the Regina Pats for the second time this season, entering tonight’s action with points in four of their last five games. Prince Albert saw their four game winning streak come to an end on Sunday night, falling 3-2 in a shootout to the Saskatoon Blades. Coming into tonight’s action, the Pats (7-3-1-0) lead the Eastern Conference in points with 15, but the Raiders (6-3-0-1) are right behind them with 13. It’s a special game tonight as well, as Bruce Vance will be inducted into the Raiders Wall of Honour.
REWIND THE TAPE:
You would have to go all the way back to December 11, 2021, nearly two full years, to find the last time the Raiders played in a regular season shootout game. On that date they beat the Calgary Hitmen 4-3, with Ozzy Wiesblatt and Landon Kosior supplying the shootout goals. On Sunday night against the Blades, Ryder Ritchie was the lone Raider to score in the shootout, as the Raiders fell in five rounds.
WHL ROOKIE OF THE WEEK:
Speaking of Ryder Ritchie, the 17-year-old forward was named the WHL’s Tempo Rookie of the Week this week. In three games last weekend, the 2024 draft eligible Ritchie tallied seven points (2G-5A). In 10 games this season, Ritchie leads the Raiders in scoring with 15 points (7G-8A).
