Raiders Announce First Two WHL Playoff Dates
Prince Albert, SK – While the opponent has yet to be determined, the first two games of the 2019 WHL Playoffs have been confirmed for the Prince Albert Raiders.
The Raiders will open the WHL Playoffs at the Art Hauser Centre on Friday, March 22 at 7 p.m. for Game 1. On Saturday, the Raiders will take the ice again in Game 2 of their best-of-seven opening round series. Puck drop is also 7 p.m.
The rest of the series will be released when an opponent is confirmed for the opening round. The Medicine Hat Tigers (74 pts) clinched a playoff spot on Wednesday night and occupy the first wild-card position. The Red Deer Rebels (72 pts) sit in the second wild-card spot as of Thursday, March 14 and are four points ahead of the Brandon Wheat Kings (68 pts). All three teams have two games left to play.
The Raiders will take on the team that finishes the year in the second wild-card spot.
Single-game tickets for Games 1 and 2 go on sale on Friday, March 15 at 9 a.m. at the Raider box office. Tickets will also be available online.
The Raiders close out the regular season with a home-and-home series against the Saskatoon Blades this weekend. After the two teams play in Saskatoon on Friday, the series shifts back to the Art Hauser Centre on Saturday night. Puck drop is 7 p.m.
