Hurricanes Reveal Third Jersey
Lethbridge, AB – The Lethbridge Hurricanes were very proud to reveal their brand new third jerseys today alongside members of the 18th Air Defense Regiment, RCA who have recently completed tours in Afghanistan. The hockey club was honored to be a part of a very special media gathering and photo opportunity at the Vimy Ridge Armoury by the Lethbridge Regional Airport. The Canes new third jersey is a complete redesign that sees a return to one of the club’s original colors – Cardinal Red. The reveal of the new jersey is timely as the Hurricanes are proud to show support of our Men and Women of the Armed Forces – especially during this very significant time of the year. The Lethbridge Hurricanes would like to urge all fans to show their support of our troops by also wearing red to the Canes matchup against the Calgary Hitmen on Wednesday, November 10th and every Friday. The Hurricanes are proud to host representatives of the armed forces for this game and hope to do anything possible to shine a light on the sacrifices made by all of these brave men and women.
Founded in Lethbridge in 1908, 18th Air Defence Regiment (18 AD) is a Canadian Forces Reserve Artillery unit. The soldiers of 18 AD are part time Reservists, who have served Canada in both World War One and World War Two, Korea, in international and domestic operations, including Croatia and Bosnia-Herzegovina, the 2004 B.C. forest fires, and currently in Afghanistan.
“We are thrilled to be able to reveal these jerseys today and at the same time show support for such a truly great cause” said Hurricanes Communications and Events Coordinator Ryan Ohashi “The return to the red jersey is something we have been developing now for quite some time and to be able to reveal it now the week of Remembrance day; a time when we all need to show our support for the armed forces – the timing is perfect.”
