rLethbridge, AB – If you’re looking to distract a frustrated fan base from a winless rut, there’s no better way than to pick up a Sutter. That’s just what the Lethbridge Hurricanes did Monday, dealing a 2009 fifth-round bantam draft pick to the Saskatoon Blades for Brody Sutter.

r“Quick! Look over there. What slump?” joked Lethbridge Hurricanes general manager Roy Stasiuk. “Seriously, though, the trade had more to do with acquiring someone I thought could come in and help our team right now and you can’t go wrong when you acquire a Sutter, you’re adding some identity to your team and you really sending a message about how you want your team to play.”

rBrody, the son of Calgary Flames director of player personnel Duane, is the eighth Sutter to play major junior hockey in Lethbridge. He joins Brian, Darryl, Duane, Brent, Rich and Ron and Brian’s son, Shaun. Shaun is the only one to have played for the Hurricanes, his uncles all played for the Broncos…
