Bidding is now OPEN for Sugar Kings Jerseys
In honor of the Lethbridge Hurricanes “Heritage Night” on Friday, January 27th versus Medicine Hat, the Hurricanes players will be wearing a special jersey paying tribute to the Lethbridge Sugar Kings. The Sugar Kings were a founding Member of the Alberta Junior A Hockey League team and Lanny McDonald was also part of the Sugar Kings team for two seasons. In the 1969-70 season the Sugar Kings who were the defending AJHL Champions were comprised mostly of first year players (having only seven returnees) from the Championship team. In the 1970-71 season the Sugar Kings lost the Alberta Finals to the Red Deer Rustlers.
The Sugar Kings jerseys are now up for auction at www.hurricanesauction.com as of 12 noon Monday, January 23rd and you can bid on these one of a kind jerseys until 12 noon on Saturday, February 4th 2012. The net proceeds from the jersey auction will go to the Hurricanes players lounge.
