Tipler Signs with Hurricanes
Lethbridge, AB – The Lethbridge Hurricanes Hockey Club announced Wednesday that they have signed 2006-born defenceman Kale Tipler to a Western Hockey League Standard Player Agreement.
Tipler, 16, was originally drafted in the sixth-round (122nd overall) in the 2021 WHL Prospects Draft. The Edgerton, AB product appeared in 30 regular season games in 2021-2022 with the Lloydminster Bobcats U18 AAA team where he totaled nine points (3g-6a) along with 44 penalty minutes. Tipler added one assist in two post-season games with the Bobcats.
The 5’10, 161-pound right-shot defenceman just completed his first WHL camp with the Hurricanes partaking in Rookie Camp and Main Camp. Tipler recorded three assists during training camp while registering four penalty minutes in the Hurricanes Red vs. White Intersquad game on Monday.
The Hurricanes welcome the Medicine Hat Tigers on Friday at 7:00pm in the first of two home pre-season games before hosting the Red Deer Rebels on Friday, September 16th at the ENMAX Centre. Tickets for the two exhibition games can be purchased for $10.00 cash at the door or in advance by visiting the Lethbridge Hurricanes Office, the Lethbridge Minor Hockey Office or any Gas King location. Parking will be free of charge for the Hurricanes pre-season games.
Lethbridge will open the 2022 WHL Regular Season on Saturday, September 24th in Medicine Hat before hosting the Tigers on Friday, September 30th at the ENMAX Centre for the Dairy Queen Home Opener. Individual game tickets for the 2022-2023 regular season will go on sale on Thursday, September 15th at 10:00am and can be purchased at the ENMAX Centre Ticket Centre, the Yates Memorial Theatre Ticket Centre, by calling 403-329-SEAT (7328) or online at www.lethbridgehurricanes.com.
