GAME DAY: Hurricanes Visit Broncos in Final Meeting
Lethbridge, AB – The Lethbridge Hurricanes will end a stretch of four-straight road games tonight at 6:00pm MT when they visit the Swift Current Broncos at the InnovationPlex.
The Hurricanes (24-23-3-0) enter on a three-game losing streak after suffering a 4-1 loss in Brandon against the Wheat Kings on Friday. Miguel Marques scored the lone goal for the Hurricanes while Harrison Meneghin made 32-saves. The ‘Canes enter tonight with a 9-16-0-0 record on the road this season while having lost their last five away from home.
The Broncos (26-19-4-2) enter with a 4-4-2-0 record in their last 10 games after dropping a 3-2 decision to the Saskatoon Blades on Saturday. The loss ended a six-game point streak. Brady Birnie and Clarke Caswell scored in the losing cause while Joey Rocha made 24-saves. Swift Current enters tonight with a 16-5-3-1 record at home this year.
Tonight will be the final meeting of the season between the Hurricanes and Broncos; Lethbridge has posted a 4-2-1-0 record in the previous seven meetings, but were downed 6-0 in Swift Current just two weeks ago. Career-High: Hurricanes goaltender Harrison Meneghin reached the 20-win plateau for the first time in his career with a 6-1 win over the Regina Pats on January 26th surpassing his previous high of 19 victories set in 2022-2023. NHL Ink: Hurricanes defenceman Noah Chadwick signed a three-year entry-level contract with the Toronto Maple Leafs on December 22nd. The Saskatoon, SK, product was a sixth-round (185th overall) selection by the Leafs in the 2023 NHL Draft. He became the first ‘Cane since Dylan Cozens (BUF) to sign an ELC deal.
