GAME DAY: Hurricanes Open Two-Game Homestand Against Pats
Lethbridge, AB – The Lethbridge Hurricanes open a two-game homestand tonight at 7:00pm as they welcome the Regina Pats to the VisitLethbridge.com Arena.
The Hurricanes (17-42-2-1) enter on a three-game losing streak after suffering a 7-3 loss in Moose Jaw to the Warriors on Saturday night. Matteo Fabrizi, Owen Berge and Kayden Longley scored in the loss while Koen Cleaver made 18-saves in the contest. Lethbridge was outshot 25-22 in the game by Moose Jaw. The ‘Canes enter tonight with a 1-7-2-0 record in their last ten games while having gone 11-18-0-1 on home ice this season.
The Pats (24-30-7-1) enter on a two-game losing streak after dropping a 6-0 loss on Tuesday in Medicine Hat to the Tigers at Co-op Place. Regina was outshot 43-16 in the game by Medicine Hat as it marked the second shutout loss of the season for the Pats. Entering tonight, Regina has posted a 5-4-1-0 record in their last ten games while having posted a 9-18-3-0 record on the road this season.
Tonight will be the final of four meetings on the season between the Hurricanes and the Pats; Lethbridge has posted a 1-2-0-0 record against Regina so far this year as the home team has been victorious in all three previous meetings. Berge Burying: Hurricanes 19-year-old forward Owen Berge enters tonight having racked up 12 goals in his last 17 games – a 48-goal pace over a full 68-game schedule. The Edmonton, AB, product leads the ‘Canes with 22 goals this year while sitting second in points with 43. Since joining the Hurricanes, Berge has collected 38 points (21g-17a) in 47 games. He was acquired for an eighth-round pick in October.
Surging Special Teams: Lethbridge’s special teams have been better of late. The ‘Canes power play has gone 21-for-81 (25.9%) in their last 22 games while having gone 4-for-15 (26.7%) in their last four contests.
