Hurricanes Team Up With Bringing Hearts Home
LETHBRIDGE HURRICANES TEAM UP WITH BRINGING HEARTS HOME AT FEBRUARY 13TH GAME
A Night of Hockey, Heart & Hope for Southern Alberta Cardiac Care
Lethbridge, AB — The Lethbridge Hurricanes are proud to announce their Bringing Hearts Home Game on Friday, February 13th at VisitLethbridge.com Arena — a night where the roar of the crowd meets a cause that beats at the heart of our community. This special game supports the Bringing Hearts Home Campaign, a $30 million initiative to enhance cardiac care in southern Alberta and bring life-saving services closer to home for families across our region. Heart disease is the number one cause of death in southern Alberta, with residents facing significantly higher risks of heart attack and cardiac mortality compared with the rest of the province. The Bringing Hearts Home Campaign is working to change that by raising funds for a Southern Alberta Cardiac Centre of Excellence featuring advanced cardiac diagnostics and treatment right here in Lethbridge. What’s Happening at the Game:
- One-of-a-Kind Jerseys — Hurricanes players will wear specially designed Bringing Hearts Home jerseys during the February 13th game to help raise awareness and support for cardiac care.
- Online Silent Auction — Fans can bid now on the jerseys. The auction ends Sunday, February 24 at 10:00PM, with all proceeds going directly to the Bringing Hearts Home Campaign. Fans can bid on jerseys at https://trellis.org/lethbridge-hurricanes-jersey-auction
- Points for a Purpose — In a powerful tribute, the Hurricanes will donate $50 for every point recorded by forward Tyden Lafournaise for the remainder of this season, and retroactively to the start of the 2025/2026 season. With 13 points (8G, 5A) so far, the current donation amount is $650. Tyden’s father was lost to cardiac arrest last year, making this initiative both personal and profound. Fans are encouraged to match this donation or give on their own via the campaign page at https://crhfoundation.ca/cardiaccare.
- Support with Your Ticket — Tickets are on sale now at visitlethbridgearena.ca. Use promo code 4CRH and $5 from every ticket purchased will be donated to the campaign: https://enmaxcentre.evenue.net/promotions.
- Commemorative Pucks – A limited number of commemorative pucks will be available for sale at the game at Top Shelf for just $10, with proceeds going to the Bringing Hearts Home campaign.
“This game is about more than hockey,” says Terry Huisman, Lethbridge Hurricanes General Manager of Business Operations. “It’s about community — families, friends, and neighbours — and making sure the care they need is right here, right now. This campaign is meaningful to our entire community, and especially to our organization, as we have multiple staff and volunteers who have been affected by cardiac health issues or know someone who has.”
“Thank you to the Hurricanes organization and their fans for their support, which represents a community choosing to change its future.” Dr. Sayeh Zielke, Physician Lead for Cardiac Services in the AHS South Zone.
The Lethbridge Hurricanes invite all fans, sponsors, and community partners to join in this meaningful night of sport and support. Together we can help bring hearts home.
About the Bringing Hearts Home Campaign
The Bringing Hearts Home Campaign, led by the Chinook Regional Hospital Foundation and partners, aims to raise $30 million by 2027 to expand cardiac care throughout southern Alberta, including a new cardiac catheterization lab, advanced imaging technology, and expanded ICU and cardiac care capacity — reducing the need for patients to travel long distances for life-saving treatment.
