UNMASKED
Q: Can you guys just talk a little bit about your own involvement in getting the masks made?
Driedger “It was pretty cool planning it all out and we got to choose what we wanted on it. We talked with Jason and he worked with us on making something that was customized.”
Q: What is the theme behind your mask?
Glover “I kind of went with something that represents the province and our city so I went with Paul Brandt cause I’m a big country music fan and obviously the Hitmen logo and then on the other side I have a bullrider.”
Driedger “I just wanted to go with the Hitmen theme. I have a hitman on one side and two (Hitmen) logos on the bottom. I got another 1950’s gangster guy that Jason did a really good job on.”
Q: What do you think of the finished product?
Driedger “They’re pretty nice. I was super excited when I saw mine, how he did some of that stuff, I can’t even imagine it. I was really excited, I’m sure Glover was too.”
Glover “I think Jason did an excellent job here in seeing my ideas and he elaborated on it and seeing it all come to life is pretty special. “
Q: Did you model your mask off of any particular NHL goalie?
Glover “Our favourite goalie, both Chris and I, is Cary Price and he kind of honoured his favourite country singer on his mask one year and so I did the same.”
Q: Whose mask is nicer?
Driedger “Well clearly mine, I mean there is no real competition. I don’t know if Glover thinks his is nicer.”
Glover “I think we’re going to have a vote here in the room pretty soon, we’ll let the guys decide. They are pretty tough critics, they don’t want us to get too high on our masks so they are pretty critical but we’ll see.”
Driedger “They’re both pretty nice so obviously we’re pretty excited.”
