Hitmen Battle Back
Prince Albert, SK – The Calgary Hitmen scored four unanswered third period goals to erase a 2-1 deficit and post a 5-2 victory in Prince Albert Tuesday night.
Jimmy Bubnick led the scoring attack for the visitors picking up his first hat-trick of the season.
Calder Brooks, with his first goal in the Western Hockey League, and Cody Sylvester also scored for Calgary who opened a six game East Division road trip.
The Brooks goal triggered the Hitmen comeback. With his team trailing 2-1 and killing a five minute major to Brady Brassart, the 17-year-old rookie struck shorthanded just 18 seconds into the third period.
Collin Bowman and Alex Roach chipped in a pair of assists for Calgary while goaltender Chris Driedger made 28 saves to record the win.
Calgary is now 6-6-0-1 on the season.
They return to action tomorrow night in Saskatoon to face the Blades in their first meeting of the season.
Calgary then visits Brandon Friday, Regina Saturday, Moose Jaw Sunday and Swift Current Tuesday before returning home to host the Seattle Thunderbirds on Friday, November 11th. It’s the Remembrance Day game with a 7:00 p.m. start at Scotiabank Saddledome.
