GLOVER DEALT
The Calgary Hitmen Hockey Club announced today that they have acquired a third round pick in the 2013 WHL Bantam Draft from the Seattle Thunderbirds in exchange for overage goaltender Brandon Glover.
“With our young talent and abundance of overage players this move will give Brandon a great opportunity to be a starter in our league,” said Calgary Hitmen Executive VP, Alternate Governor and General Manager Kelly Kisio. “We would like to thank Brandon for his efforts during his two years in Calgary.”
Glover, a native of Victoria, B.C., finished the 2011-12 regular season with a 20-12-0-0 record while posting a 3.11 goals-against average and an .885 save percentage. The 19-year-old netminder led all WHL goaltenders in November with a 1.96 goals-against average and .933 save percentage and was recognized as the VAUGHN WHL Goaltender of the Month as well as the Ed Williams Player of the Month for his efforts.
The Hitmen acquired the British Columbia product in a five-player deal with the Moose Jaw Warriors in November 2010. Glover was drafted by the Warriors in the sixth round, 116th overall, in the 2007 WHL Bantam Draft.
