RECAP: Hitmen Fall to Hurricanes 4-1
Calgary, AB – The Calgary Hitmen played their lone game of the weekend in Lethbridge Friday night, falling to the Hurricanes 4-1.
Special teams were the difference in tonight’s contest, falling in favour of Lethbridge. The Hurricanes would go on to net two on the power play, adding a shorthanded goal.
After a scoreless first period, Owen Berge opened the scoring on the power play to give Lethbridge a 1-0 lead heading into the final frame. The Hurricanes wasted no time extending the lead, with Berge scoring his second power-play goal of the game just six seconds into the third period.
While Calgary was on the power play, Lethbridge struck shorthanded, with Kai Andersen making it 3-0. The Hitmen finally got on the board courtesy of Caine Wilke scoring a power-play goal for his 12th of the season to cut the deficit to 3-1.

Calgary made a final push with Aidan Hesse pulled for the extra attacker, but Berge completed his hat trick with an empty net goal to seal a 4-1 victory.
The Hitmen have the weekend off before heading east to play four games in five days, beginning in Saskatoon on Tuesday, Feb. 3 (7:00 p.m.). The trip then heads to Prince Albert on Wednesday, Feb. 4 (7:00 p.m.), Brandon on Friday, Feb. 6 (7:00 p.m.) and Regina on Saturday, Feb. 7 (6:00 p.m.). Calgary is then back home on Wednesday, Feb. 11 to welcome the Swift Current Broncos to Scotiabank Saddledome in a 7:00 p.m. start.
