Hitmen Set For North/South Battle
It’s a classic North vs South in the Shrine Hockey Challenge.
The Hitmen welcome the Spokane Chiefs Tuesday night (7 p.m., Sportsnet 960 THE FAN, WHL Live) in the only meeting of the season between the two clubs.
The Hitmen come into the matchup fresh off a 2-1 shootout win over the Prince George Cougars Sunday afternoon.
Jake Bean scored the shootout winner in the fifth round to snap a two-game losing streak, with Tristen Nielsen scoring his second of the year in regulation. Nick Schneider finished the night with 33 saves.
Spokane are currently on the second of a four game Central Division road swing after defeating the Edmonton Oil Kings 6-0 on Sunday Oct. 22.
After Tuesday’s contest they’ll head out to Medicine Hat to take on the Tigers on Oct. 25, before wrapping up their trip at Red Deer on Oct. 27.
The Chiefs sit third in the U.S. Division with 15 points and have gone 4-5-1 in their last 10.
The Hitmen are back on the road Friday night at 7 p.m. when they face the Lethbridge Hurricanes, before returning home on Saturday against the Seattle Thunderbirds.
