Hitmen Secure First Road Win in Regina
Regina, SK – The Calgary Hitmen played the first of back-to-back games on the road tonight in Regina taking on the Pats at the Brandt Centre. Calgary secured their first road win, in a 3-1 victory over Regina.
Ben Kindel shined once again, netting two power play goals in what was a dominant puck possession game for Calgary. A scoreless game to start wasn’t interrupted until the second period with Kindel netting his first of the game putting one past the ears of Regina netminder Kelton Pyne on the power play. Regina had a quick answer, with Zachary Lansard tying the game in the last minute of the second. It was none other than Ben Kindel to score his second of the night on the power play to take the lead. Calgary would hold on, with Brandon Gorzynski sealing the deal with an empty net making the final score 3-1.
Ben Kindel (2g) now has six goals in his past five games. Carter Yakemchuk (1a) also extended his point streak to five games. Eric Tu secured his second career win, making 25 saves in Calgary’s win over Regina.
Calgary’s road trip wraps up tomorrow, Saturday, Oct. 26 in Brandon against the Wheat Kings. Game time is 6:00 p.m. (MT). Calgary is then back in Scotiabank Saddledome to face the Medicine Hat Tigers on Wednesday, Oct. 30 at 6:00 p.m.
