2021 Hitmen Training Camp – Day 2 Recap

The Calgary Hitmen kicked off day two of training camp Saturday with the first on-ice sessions of camp, with three scrimmages and a goalie session at Scotiabank Saddledome. Team Getzlaf and Team Ladd both took to the ice twice, once in the morning and once in the afternoon. Below is the scoring summary of the contests.

Team Stone 4 Team Getzlaf 2

Sixth round 2020 WHL Prospects Draft pick David Adaszynski scored twice to lead Team Stone to the first victory of the day, with 2019 sixth rounder Matthew Sutter and Blake Allan adding single tallies.

Team Getzlaf saw goals come courtesy of Adam Kydd and Calgary product Matteo Danis.

Team Jones 3 Team Team Ladd 1

Xander Schulte, another sixth round selection in the 2020 draft, scored a pair of markers in the tightly contested battle while Cade Moxham added a single tally for Team Jones.

Forward Kyle Kalamaras provided the lone goal for Team Ladd.

Team Getzlaf 8 Team Ladd 2

The offence exploded for Team Getzlaf in the third and final game of the day, with Carter Yakemchuk, Matteo Danis and Riley Bracko all finding the back of the net twice. Defenders Easton Hewson and Tyson Galloway chipped in with the other goals. Yakemchuk was a third round selection, 65th overall, in the 2020 WHL Prospects Draft.

2020 Hitmen first-rounder Oliver Tulk and Calgary product Josh Wiebe were the goal scorers for Team Ladd.

Hitmen Training Camp continues tomorrow, Sunday, Sept. 5 at Scotiabank Saddledome with three more games scheduled to take place. The action kicks off at 10 am with Team Stone taking on Team Jones.

All on-ice sessions are open and free to the public and media.  Please park in lot A and enter by the northeast tower wheel chair access. Seating is available in sections 210-214.
