Calgary Hitmen Announce Changes to Roster
Calgary, AB – The Calgary Hitmen announced today they have released 20 year-old goaltender Ethan Buenaventura from the team and have called up 2007-born goaltender Kason Kobelka.
Ethan Buenaventura spent parts of four seasons with the Calgary Hitmen after being drafted by the club in the fourth round of the 2019 WHL Prospects Draft.
“This move allows us to look into the future and develop our younger goaltenders. This also opens a 20-year-old roster spot on our team” said General Manager Garry Davidson. “Ethan is a first-class individual and we cannot say enough about his contributions to our team on the ice and in the community.”
Kason Kobelka was signed by the Calgary Hitmen this past off season. The 17-year-old currently plays with the Calgary Northstars U18 AAA, posting a 2.21 GAA and .922 save percentage over eight games played.
The Calgary Hitmen depart Wednesday for their six game U.S. Division road trip which kicks off Friday Nov.8 in Kent vs the Seattle Thunderbirds. Calgary’s next home game in on Nov. 22.
