White Wraps Up U18 Camp with OT Win
Vancouver Giants forward Tyler Benson set up Pierre-Luc Dubois’ overtime winner as Team White wrapped up Hockey Canada’s Under-18 selection camp with a 4-3 victory over Team Red. Ryely McKinstry suited up for Team Red in the loss.
The game was scoreless after the first period before the two sides combined for five goals in the second period with Red leading 3-2 through 40 minutes. William Bitten evened the score for White in the third period to force overtime, and Benson helped end the game, picking up the lone assist on the winning goal.
White improved to 3-0 with the victory as they won all three intrasquad games at the camp.
The final roster for Canada’s National Men’s Summer Under-18 Team will be announced later tonight.
