Pre-Game Report: Giants at Blazers
The Vancouver Giants (23-33-5-2) will face the Kamloops Blazers (28-24-5-4) on Saturday evening at the Sandman Centre. Puck drop is at 7:00pm. Listen to the action on TSN 1040, beginning with the Pre-Game Show at 6:00pm.
The Giants are coming off a 4-3 loss to the Kelowna Rockets on Friday night at the Pacific Coliseum. Radovan Bondra had two goals in the losing cause. The native of Trebisov, Slovakia has four goals and two assists in his last six games. Carter Popoff has also been playing well of late, tallying points in five consecutive contests. The G-Men are 10-14-1-1 against the BC Division this season and are 12 points behind the Blazers for the final Western Conference playoff spot.
Since losing their third game in a row to the Giants on Sunday, the Blazers bumped their losing skid with a 3-2 overtime victory over the Everett Silvertips on Friday evening at the Xfinity Arena. Deven Sideroff scored the overtime winner for Kamloops. Blazers captain Matt Needham didn’t suit up in the game because he was serving a one game suspension for a knee-on-knee hit on Dmitry Osipov in the loss to the Giants on Sunday.
