Giants Visit Americans on Valentine’s Day
The Vancouver Giants (23-30-1-2) will face the Tri-City Americans (26-27-0-3) in a Valentine’s Day matchup on Saturday at the Toyota Center. Catch the action on TSN 1410. The Giants are coming off a disappointing 6-0 loss at the hands of the Everett Silvertips at Xfinity Arena on Friday night. Giants’ goaltender Cody Porter was pulled from the net after conceding two goals on seven shots in the first period. It was the ninth time the Giants have been held off the scoreboard this season. Vancouver has now lost five consecutive road games and sits in fourth in the BC Division, one point behind the Kamloops Blazers.
The Americans are holding onto the final wild card playoff spot in the Western Conference. Tri-City also played on Friday, losing 7-1 to the Portland Winterhawks on the road. The Ams have only won two of their last eight contests with both victories in that stretch coming over the Everett Silvertips. Tri-City won the last meeting between the two clubs, edging the Giants 3-0 at the Pacific Coliseum on January 16th.
