B.C. Division Battle

The Vancouver Giants look to snap their 3 game losing streak tomorrow night when they play host to their B.C. Diviison rivals from Chillwiack, 7:00pm at the Pacific Coliseum. Dealing with a rash of injuries right now, the Giants need to find a way to get back on track in this final push towards the playoffs. Vancouver currently sits in 2nd place in the B.C. Division and 5th in the Western Conference, 6 points back of Kelowna and 6 points up on Chilliwack. With 7 games left in their regular season schedule the Giants need one win or Kamloops and Seattle to both lose one game in order for them to secure a spot in the playoffs for a 9th straight season. Tomorrow’s match up will be the 9th of 10 meetings this year with the Bruins. Vancouver is 5-3-0-0 in the previous 8 games, but will be without leading scorer Brendan Gallagher. The Montreal Canadiens draft pick will not play tomorrow as he is still recovering from a hit he took Saturday night against Portland. Gallagher has been a Bruins killer this season, racking up 9 goals and 18 points in the 8 meetings vs. Chilliwack this year.

The Bruins come in playing some of their best hockey of the season having won 5 straight games, including victories over division leaders Kelowna and Portland. Goaltender Lucas Gore was the WHL nominee for CHL Goaltender of the Week after going 4-0 last week with a 1.00 GAA, .968 SV%, and one shutout. These two rivals will wrap up their 10 game season set this Saturday night in Chilliwack at Prospera Centre.
