Langley, B.C. – The Vancouver Giants got goals from four different players in their season-opening win on Friday night at the Langley Events Centre.
Tyler Thorpe, Adam Titlbach, Cameron Schmidt and Colton Langkow each found the back of the net in the club’s 4-1 win over Victoria.
Goaltender Brett Mirwald was strong in goal, finishing with 24 saves on 25 shots.
Although the Giants power play couldn’t convert in the early going, Schmidt scored on the man advantage midway through the second to increase Vancvouer’s lead to 3-0. He got the puck at the top of the right circle and ripped a shot right to the top corner for his first of the young season.
