Giant Futures: Alec Baer

Vancouver Giants’ list player, Alec Baer, is currently playing for Benilde-St. Margaret’s, one of the best high school teams in the state of Minnesota.

The 5’9”, 150lb St. Louis Park native, is playing for the Red Knights as a freshman and has 5 goals and 11 assists (16 points) in 19 games with Benilde-St. Margaret’s.

In his 2011-12 season, Baer played varsity hockey as an eighth grader for St. Louis Park High where he tallied 27 points (13 goals and 14 assists) in just 23 games and tied the St. Louis Park team lead with five game-winning goals.

Baer participated in the Giants’ Rookie Training Camp last August and finished camp as the leading scorer.  The numbers Baer put up at camp hasn’t been seen at a Giants’ camp since Gilbert Brule.
