KAMLOOPS BLAZERS ANNOUNCE TRAINING CAMP SCHEDULE
Kamloops, BC – The Kamloops Blazers have announced their training camp schedule which will begin with check in and registration on Thursday, August 27th. On ice sessions will begin on Friday, August 28th and conclude on Monday, August 31st. All ice sessions will be at the Sandman Centre and are open to the public.
Ice sessions will include practices, a Young Stars game, 3-on-3 and 5-on-5 play throughout the weekend.
The hockey club has named the four teams after alumni Logan Stankoven, Fraser Minten, Dylan Garand and Emmitt Finnie.
Logan Stankoven – The local product played 179 games with the Blazers between 2019 and 2023. He produced 115 goals, 145 assists for 260 points which was 1.45 points per game. Among the many accolades Stankoven has received includes a 2021 U18 Gold Medal, 2022 and 2023 World Junior Gold Medals, 2022 WHL and CHL Player of the Year, 2022 WHL Most Sportsmanlike Player, 2023 CHL First Team All-Star, 2023 WHL Humanitarian of the Year. The 23-year-old won the 2026 Stanley Cup with the Carolina Hurricanes scoring 11 goals in 19 playoff games.
Fraser Minten – The Vancouver, BC product played 187 games with the Blazers between 2020 and 2024. He collected 77 goals, 111 assists for 188 points during his time with the Blazers. Minten was selected in the second round of the 2022 NHL Draft by the Toronto Maple Leafs and suited up for four games with the Maple Leafs as a 19-year-old. The 22-year-old was traded to Boston during the 2024-2025 season. Minten suited up in all 82 games with the Bruins last year collecting 17 goals, 18 assists for 35 points.
Dylan Garand – The Victoria, BC native played four seasons with the Blazers between 2018 and 2022. He appeared in 135 games with the hockey club and had a record of 89-31-5-2, a 2.33 goals against average and a .919 save percentage. Garand’s accolades include 2020 WHL Scholastic Player of the Year, 2022 World Junior Gold Medal, 2022 WHL and CHL Goaltender of the Year. He was selected by the New York Rangers in the fourth round of the 2020 NHL Draft. He made his NHL debut during the 2025-2026 season with the Rangers and earned two wins in three starts last season.
Emmitt Finnie – The Lethbridge, AB product played in 229 games with the Blazers over four seasons. He collected 65 goals, 119 assists for 184 points in a Blazer uniform. Finnie was selected in the seventh round of the 2023 NHL Draft by the Detroit Red Wings. After recording 84 points in 55 games with the Blazers in the 2024-2025 season, Finnie jumped to the NHL for the 2025-2026 season where he played all 82 games with the Red Wings as a 20-year-old and had 13 goals, 17 assists for 30 points.
A total of 80 athletes will be participating in camp from 2006 born players to 2011 born players.
