High school students film mini-doc on Blades captain
The Saskatoon Blades with the support of Ecologik partnered with students from Evan Hardy Collegiate’s media program earlier this season to assist the students with a video project. Several students presented the idea of filming “A Day In The Life” mini-documentary on Blades’ captain, Evan Fiala.
The day starts out at Evan’s family acreage near Clavet. Despite the Blades having a day off from the games and practice, Evan made his way to one of the many community appearances the Blades take part in. On this day, it was a visit to Silverwood School as part of the Blades Project Face-Off program where the players along with members of the RCMP speak with students about the dangers of substance abuse. Each year several senior players take a trip to an area on East Hastings Street in Vancouver to witness first-hand the consequences and dangers of substance abuse. Being the captain and a homegrown player, Fiala leads the charge with these types of appearances throughout the hockey season.
The feature also checks in with members of the Blades staff to hear their input on what Evan brings to the team on and off the ice.
The Saskatoon Blades would like to thank the students of Evan Hardy Collegiate for their wonderful work!
