BladesTV: Kirby Dach and Nolan Maier return to Saskatoon
Saskatoon, SK – The Saskatoon Blades will have some reinforcements up front going forward with the return of 16-year-old rookie Kirby Dach who has come back to Saskatoon from the 2017 World Under-17 Hockey Challenge. Joining him in Saskatoon and also returning from the U17 Hockey Challenge is Blades’ 15-year-old prospect netminder Nolan Maier who will now remain on the roster permanently.
Dach and Maier represented Canada at the tournament, each playing for Team Canada Black. The boys and Canada Black were knocked out of the tournament in the quarter finals by Team Canada Red.
Dach finished the tournament with 7 points in 5 games, good enough to finish ranked 5th for points across all teams. 6 of those 7 points were assists, which ranked him 2nd overall for assists as well.
Maier was just as impressive in net, ending the tournament with the highest save percentage of all goaltenders who played three or more games at .917%. His stats also saw him finish with the second highest save percentage of all goaltenders regardless of how many games they played.
Both Dach and Maier will be in the Blades’ lineup tomorrow night as the Saskatoon Blades take on the Moose Jaw Warriors at Sasktel Centre.
The next Blades home game is Wednesday, November 15th versus the Moose Jaw Warriors for “Wing-It Wednesday” including $5 boneless wing specials at the concession and ticket specials.
