– Gaelan Patterson of the Blades has been suspended one game by the WHL following a boarding major and game misconduct he was assessed against the Swift Current Broncos on Sunday night. 

 

– 15 year old, 2008 first round Blades draft selection, Brent Benson has been recalled for tonight’s game. Benson who plays for the Notre Dame Hounds of the SMAAAHL has collected 15 goals and 35 assists in 33 games for the Hounds this year. Benson has appeared in 3 games for the Blades so far this year. Benson picked up his first WHL point, an assist, on January 1^st vs. the Lethbridge Hurricanes.   

 

– Last Wednesday the Canadian Hockey League announced the CHL Top 10 Rankings for this week. The weekly rankings of the Canadian Hockey League’s Top 10 are selected by a panel of National Hockey League scouts. The Saskatoon Blades have jumped up one position to 9th in the weekly rankings. 

 

– On Saturday, February 21^st, the Saskatoon Blades and Canadian Cancer Society will be teaming up to support a worthy cause. The Blades will be wearing special edition jerseys with a breast cancer theme. The game worn jerseys will be auctioned off during the game between the Saskatoon Blades and Kootenay Ice. Proceeds from the jersey auction will be donated to the Canadian Cancer Society.
