“When it came true, it was almost … it was almost like a fairy-tale-come true.” said Dach over the phone.

Dach scored 14 goals and 21 assists in 34 games as an under-ager in the AMHL.
Prior to selecting Dach, the Blades made a trade with Vancouver to move up to the 2nd overall spot. Saskatoon sent EVT 2nd round pick (36), SAS 6th (136), and SAS 2017 7th to swap the 2nd and 3rd overall picks. Saskatoon received MH 3rd (50), and KAM 7th (147).
“I was almost in shock because I saw the trade happen between Saskatoon (and) Vancouver,”
Dach recorded 14G-21A-35PTS in 34 games played for the Fort Saskatchewan Rangers as an under-ager in the Alberta Midget Hockey League. In the previous year, playing for the Fort Sask. Rangers Bantam AAA club, Dach smashed Tyler Benson’s rookie scoring record by 16 points (29G-71A-100PTS).
“I think the sky’s the limit for him,” said head coach and GM Bob Woods.
“He’s going to be a pretty exciting player for our fans to watch in the future.”

Dach is teammates with defense prospect Payton McIsaac.
Dach is also a teammate of Blades defense prospect Payton McIsaac on the Fort Saskatchewan Rangers.
“It’s pretty special, we’re kinda brothers for life,” said Dach about the opportunity to continue playing with McIsaac.
