It all comes down to this. The WHL Eastern Conference Final between the Saskatoon Blades and Moose Jaw Warriors will be decided in a winner-take-all Game 7!
Five-of-six games in the series have needed overtime to decide the outcome. Goals, shots, face-offs, the series itself is as even as it can get heading into Game 7. Neither team has won an Ed Chynoweth Cup, and this game decides who gets the honour of playing for one in the WHL Final!
More than 10,000 tickets sold for Game 7 at SaskTel Centre within hours of going on sale. If the Blades win, they’re off to the finals for the first time since 1994!
With a near sellout expected, here are a couple of reminders for fans to know ahead of the big game.

The Saskatoon Blades (11-4) and Moose Jaw Warriors (11-4) play a win or go home Game 7 at SaskTel Centre in the WHL Eastern Conference Final. Five-of-six games in the best-of-seven series have gone to overtime, Saskatoon winning three of them. The Blades have another chance to punch their ticket to the WHL Final after losing Game 6 at the Moose Jaw Events Centre 4-3 in overtime on Sunday. If the Blades win tonight, it’ll mark the first time the organization has reached the final round since 1994 when they lost in Game 7 to the Kamloops Blazers.
Who to Watch
Anaheim Ducks prospect Egor Sidorov recorded a goal and two assists in Game 6 vs the Warriors. The 6-foot sniper has three goals and two assists on his three-game point streak. Sidorov leads the WHL with 15 goals and leads the team in points with 23 in 15 games. The third-year Blade is second in all-time playoff scoring in a Saskatoon uniform, owning 25 goals and 20 assists in 36 career postseason games. Sidorov’s partner in crime Trevor Wong is right behind him in third with 11 goals and 33 assists in 38 career playoff appearances.

Moose Jaw, SK native Rowan Calvert scored on the Blades’ lone powerplay attempt in Game 6. The sophomore winger has three goals and one assist in 15 games this postseason, including a short-handed tally in Game 4 of Round 2 against the Red Deer Rebels.

Alternate captain Charlie Wright scored his fifth goal of the playoffs in Game 6. The pending WHL graduate leads the Blades backend with 13 points in 15 games this postseason, six more points than his previous career high. The Olds, AB product is +10 these playoffs with his steady and calm performance shutting down the opposition.
