Tonight – The Saskatoon Blades return home after a lengthy road trip through the US Division in which they played 5 games in 10 days going 2-3 in the process. It’s the first home game for the Blades since November 24th, and the first and only meeting of the season between the Blades and Blazers.
The opponent – After starting the season 0-9, Kamloops has clawed their way back into playoff contention in the West with a respectable 13-15-0-1 record. In their last 10 games, Kamloops has gone 6-3-0-1, and they’re coming off a 6-5 shootout loss last night in Prince Albert. Saskatoon product Garrett Pilon leads the team in scoring with 36 points through 29 games.
For Saskatoon – The Blades have put the toughest part of their season schedule behind them and will look to start stringing together some wins. With 6 games remaining before the Christmas break, Saskatoon needs to make an impact in the standings ahead of the second half and that begins tonight against a Blazer team that played last night while the Blades should be well rested having not played since Tuesday in Seattle.
The lineup – Should remain mostly unchanged from Tuesday’s game in Seattle. 15-year-old Koen MacInnes was sent back to Midget with the acquisition of 18 year old net minder, Hunter Arps.
Injury Report:
F Caleb Fantillo – lower body, 6-8 weeks
F Gage Ramsay – lower body, 2-3 weeks
G Ryan Kubic – lower body, day-to-day
