Fans better be ready to brave the cold because it’s going to be HEAT inside SaskTel Centre tonight!
It’s Super Cooper Bobblehead Night presented by SaskMilk as the Saskatoon Blades welcome the defending Western Hockey League (WHL) Champion Medicine Hat Tigers to town at 7:00pm.
The 2024-25 Western Hockey League (WHL) Rookie of the Year finalist has his very own bobblehead! Season ticket holders can pick up their bobblehead at The FEZ today prior to the game. For the general public, the first 1000 fans through the doors will walk home with one for themselves. Doors open at 6:00pm so make sure to arrive early.
Williams is in his sophomore season with the Blue and Gold. The Calgary, AB native was recently ranked 42 amongst North American skaters in NHL Central Scouting’s Midterm Rankings. Williams was also one of three Blades alongside forward Zach Olsen and Brayden Klimpke to be named to Team East at the Inaugural WHL Prospects Game next month in Langley, BC. The NHL Draft-eligible forward leads the team in scoring with 15 goals and 23 assists for 38 points in 41 games.

Hay is for Hayden
2007-born centre Hayden Harsanyi scored the game-winning goal on Wednesday against the Royals. The Calgary, AB native netted his 12th goal of the season with 4:16 remaining in regulation. Of Harsanyi’s 12 goals, three have been game winners. In 42 games, Harsanyi has 27 points (12G, 15A).
Loyal to Doyle
19-year-old defenceman Tristen Doyle recorded a goal and an assist in Wednesday’s victory. The right-handed shot scored the empty-net goal late in the third period to ice the game. Doyle has six goals and 20 assists for 26 points in 41 games.
The good guys
Williams leads the team in scoring with 15 goals and 23 assists for 38 points in 40 games. Alternate captain Rowan Calvert has the most goals on the team at 22 and a team-leading 11 coming on the man-advantage. Second-year defenceman Jordan Martin has the best +/- at +10. Columbus Blue Jackets prospect Evan Gardner has a 17-9-2-1 record between the pipes with a .903 SV%, 2.81 GAA, and two shutouts.

The Tigers have won 20 of their last 21 games. Medicine Hat boasts the league’s goal scoring leader in defenceman Bryce Pickford. The Montreal Canadiens prospect has 33 goals and 29 assists for 62 points in 42 games. The NHL Draft-eligible duo of Liam and Markus Ruck lead the way offensively up front for the Tigers. Liam leads the team in points with 63 (26G, 37A), while his twin brother is right behind him with 62 (11G, 51A).
