Alternate captain Wright named East Division second team all-star
Saskatoon, SK – Saskatoon Blades alternate captain Charlie Wright has been named to the WHL’s East Division Second All-Star Team for the 2023-24 season. The league announced the all-stars for all four divisions Tuesday afternoon.

The pending WHL graduate was a steadying presence on the Blades blue line in his final season. When he wasn’t busy shutting down the opponents top line the Olds, AB product recorded five goals and 35 points in a full 68-game slate.
This is the first time Wright has received an all-star honour in his five-year tenure with the league. With 256 career regular season WHL games under his belt, Wright’s work on the backend for Saskatoon this season helped them to their third 50-win season in franchise history, an East Division banner, first place in the Eastern Conference, and the Scotty Munro Memorial Trophy for top regular season team in the WHL.
The 2024 WHL Playoffs presented by Nutrien begin Thursday, March 28th when all eyes are on SaskTel Centre for Game 1 of the Blades and Prince Albert Raiders series. Puck drop for the Highway 11 rivalry is 7:00pm, with Game 2 the following night at SaskTel Centre at 7:00pm.
