2013 MasterCard Memorial Cup Attendance Hits 4th All-Time
The 2013 MasterCard Memorial Cup has achieved the fourth-highest attendance total in championship history, the host organizing committee announced Sunday.
A crowd of 11,488 for Sunday’s championship game pushed the nine-game attendance total to 82,503 – the highest total since 2007. This year’s average attendance of more than 9,167 ranks fifth in MasterCard Memorial Cup history and is more than 3,800 higher than any championship held since 2009.
“Thanks to the support of our loyal fans and corporate partners, the 2013 MasterCard Memorial Cup has been a successful tournament,” said Jack Brodsky, co-chair of the event with Tim Gitzel. “The hard work of our volunteers has delivered a first-class event and we’re proud to have hosted the hockey world in Saskatoon.”
