Americans Sign Second Pick Mitchell Brown
KENNEWICK, WA – Tri-City Americans Governor/General Manager Bob Tory announced today that the team has signed 15-year-old defenseman Mitchell Brown to a standard WHL Players Agreement.
Brown, 6’1” 185-pounds, is from Salmon Arm, British Columbia. He played the 2015-16 season with the Okanogan Hockey Academy Bantam Prep team and collected three goals, 22 points, 40 PIM’s in 25 games. Brown was selected in the 2nd round (29th overall) in the 2016 WHL Bantam Draft held on May 5th.
“Mitchell is a big, two-way defenseman with very good offensive skills,” said Tory. “He likes to jump into the rush, moves the puck well with his first pass. He has a very good shot and plays a physical game.”
