Sportsnet CHL Saturday Showcase: Oshawa at Barrie

The CHL on Sportsnet continues with the CHL Saturday Showcase at 3:30pm ET from Barrie as the Colts make their third appearance of the season, playing host to the Oshawa Generals.

Top 2018 NHL Draft prospect Andrei Svechnikov is back in the lineup after nearly two months sidelined with a hand injury. The 17-year-old had 14 points (10-4–14) in 10 games prior to the setback but the Colts have carried on strong in his absence, carrying the Central Division lead into the weekend.

While the Colts look for their first CHL Saturday Showcase victory following losses to Kitchener and Ottawa, the visiting Oshawa Generals carry a 13-15-2-0 record into Saturday’s action following a Friday night win over Ottawa.

The Generals are led by Boston Bruins prospect and team captain Jack Studnicka who has 29 points (10-19–29) in as many games this season while 2018 NHL Draft prospects Allan McShane (10-18–28) and Serron Noel (14-9–23) have also carried the load offensively.

While the Colts and Generals battle in Barrie, the Memorial Cup heads west for the weekend, stopping in Vancouver, BC as the hometown Giants play host to the Kootenay ICE at 7:00pm PT.
